Slash My Search!!!

SlashMySearch.com is a very new search engine with a lot of promise. I've already done several searches using it and have been happy with the results. I'm not giving up my old friend, Google, by any means, nor any of the others, but I'm doing a lot of searches on both SlashMySearch and Winzy (both places with which I have affiliate status). I have both of them as homepages, because I have two browsers (Windows and Firefox).

When you're an affiliate of a search engine, you'd be surprised at the amount of cash and/or points you can pick up by just doing what comes naturally: searching for whatever happens to be of interest to you--and, better yet, getting others to join the fun!

I'm getting ready to liven up this site with more "etc."

For instance, I found this really neat search engine I'll be sharing soon--and that's just the beginning, so keep on coming back.

Today, I'm into something a little different: creating a more useful and exciting template. I've already started work on, so be sure to scroll clear to the bottom so that you don't miss a thing.

As soon as I do some work on this phase, I'm going out on a mother-daughter pizza picnic complete with a scenic drive. It's a beautiful day here in the Hoosier State. We've been having some pretty serious storms coming through the state recently, even though my neck of the woods seems to not be getting the worst of them.

Well, better get back to what I've been doing so I can enjoy a little ladies' afternoon out a.s.a.p.

I was reminded a few minutes ago by reading this about an information place called GasBuddy.com. This is a fun way to nose around and find out what gas is going for in a given place. Although it's great just for satisfying nosiness, it can also have practical uses, too.

I'm sharing part of an e-mail I've written to make you aware that something is about to happen that will never happen again--at least, not for another thousand years...

It won't ever happen in the morning again, but it will happen in the afternoon, because (as you wrote):

On Wednesday of next week (now referred to as "this week"), at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00
in the morning, the time and date will be

01:02:03 04/05/06.

However...

On Wednesday of next week (now referred to as "this week"), at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00
in the afternoon, the time and date will be (just as it was 12 hours before at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 in the morning)

01:02:03 04/05/06.

Just another one of those times when lightning strikes twice. However, once it has happened in the afternoon, it will never happen again!

Doggone it! I've already missed it the first time around. I hope I remember to catch it the next time around...

What this means is that you will, hopefully, be very anxious to check it out.

If you see this, it means that everything on the website, itself, has been (for the near future, anyway) completed to the satisfaction of yours truly, and all that's needed now is to just add visitors that will, hopefully, sign my guestbook (even though it isn't required).

My message to people visiting is this:

Just make yourselves at home and check out whatever you might find interesting. With very few exceptions, all links make their destinations open into new windows, meaning that you don't have to even leave the website completely behind in order to take side-trips.

About those destinations...some will already be leading to places that are already going and active. Others will lead to places that are either relatively-new or else absolutely brand-new and not yet developed.

If you were to come back to every last one of those places in anything from a day or so to a week, you would see a lot of exciting changes there.

In short, what I'm offering as of today (March 5, 2006) is a completely built website, some exciting and completed destinations, and the chance to watch construction work going on.

If you happened to be hanging around, you might be noticing a lot of changes going on in my neck of the woods.

New blogs are starting to be developed in different ways.

Old blogs are being promoted more (as in being added to Weblogs.com right along with the newer ones).

Are you becoming curious?

If you are, I'm going to enlighten you some...

At this time, I'm building a website that's state-of-the-art (that is, as state-of-the-art as it can be coming from someone who began using The Internet back in 1998 when almost 46 years old--anyway, I'm quite proud of it!), and I'm hooking up various blogs to it.

I'm being very thorough when it comes to building it, so I can't tell you just when it will be done, but I'm hoping that it will be done before the first of next week, and the sooner the better.

When my website opens, I'll be making another announcement here, so be watching for it.

In the meantime--when you have the time and want to--enjoy watching the construction going on...
